Believe it or not, I actually keep a schedule for my blog. I attend Linky Parties and the WP Community Pool on Mondays, promote and create recipes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, post and manage social media stuff on Thursdays (which usually carries over to Fridays), attend more Linky Parties and promote on Fridays, then take Saturday and Sunday to rest. Rest. HA! The hell is that, anyway? This is significant because, when I see a new email notification for a blog comment or message over the weekend, well, it’s a good day. And sometimes I’m even surprised with a new award nomination. Today I’d like to share with you my fifth award nomination.
I present to you: The Starlight Blogger Award!
I was nominated for this award by Fabiola of My Heart of Mexico just the other day. Since it’s no longer September From Hell I was happy to accept the award immediately. Thanks Fabiola! Fabiola writes an authentic Mexican cooking blog sprinkled with articles chronicling life in Mexico. Reading through her blog is an eye-opening experience which is not to be missed! Again, my thanks to you.
Yes, I’m fully aware you came here today expecting a Pocky cake. Since The Boy’s birthday isn’t until Saturday he didn’t want me to make him his cake yet. I couldn’t complain; I spent most of Wednesday driving around to three different doctor appointments and ended up with a migraine. In lieu of cake, here’s some more Poké Ball Candy Piñatas:
Expect an over-the-top Pocky cake on Saturday. Fear not, today’s not a total wash-out! I’ve been nominated for my fourth award! Feast your eyes upon the Blogger Recognition Award:
I was nominated at the end of August by blogger Yen of Little Calico’s Journal. Thanks, Yen! Yen writes book reviews, poetry… a little bit of everything, really. I love her writing style. Stop by for a visit, maybe you’ll like her too. I swore I’d get around to writing this eventually; now seemed like a good time. Ready? Let’s go.
Wow, hey. So, um, here we are again! Another blogging award nomination so soon, I’m completely taken aback. My third award already, wow! Have I wow’d enough? I’m speechless! –shuffles notecards- First, of course, I must extend my thanks to the lovely Berryduchess of berryduchess.com for nominating me for this award. Her blog initially caught my eye with its bright, attractive art style; it quickly became evident that her blog is the epitome of “versatile”. Go on, give the gal a click.
At least online awards don’t require a fancy dress and heels. I’d never make it, I tell you.
With this award, I’d also like to extend my thanks to all of my followers. The counter on the right hasn’t quite updated yet, but, at the time of this post there are over 350 of you! Incredible! I never imagined Skill Up Skillet would grow more than 50 followers through begging and bribery and every day I’m delighted to be proven wrong. You’re all amazing, I’m excited to share my geeky culinary creations with you every week.
Welp, you’re here for the facts and nominations I presume, so let’s get on with it. Ready? Let’s go.
Oh man, oh man, oh man. The people of the interwebs have been at it again and I’ve been nominated for yet another award! My thanks to Roy from Piece of Cerebrum for the nomination. If you’re a food blogger like me, you’ll want to check out their #WeeklyChallenge for #Foodbloggers. It’s a great idea to promote camaraderie in the community so check it out!
The Premio Dardos Award exists to acknowledge the values that every blogger shows in their effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day. These stamps were created with the intention of promoting fraternization between bloggers, a way of showing affection and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web. Plus, readers get the chance to discover new, interesting blogs. All in all, it’s a win-win situation. Ready? Let’s go.
Big thanks to Effervescent Hedgepig for nominating me for the Liebster Award! If you have any interest in jewelry whatsoever, why not hop on over and see what she has going on? She even sells her pieces on Etsy, which is pretty rad. Eventually I’d like to market my blog as well, in the form of the most geeky and sarcastic not-a-cookbook cookbook you’ll ever read. Some day! I suck at talking about myself so it took me forever to get around to doing this; hope you enjoy.
The Liebster Award is an award for small or new blogs that deserve a chance in the spotlight. Once received, it’s passed on (as a chain letter might be) to other blogs that the recipient thinks are worthy of attention, and so forth. By asking each nominee to answer a set of questions, the award allows new bloggers to tell their audience something about themselves. Ready? Let’s go.
